Textiles Association of Los Angeles, Scholarship Awards

Five outstanding students participated in the annual TALA scholarship awards competition.

Shannon Lindsey , Graduate Students, presented a collection based on Brazilian culture and string theory.  She received third place.

Stephanie Martinez, 4th year undergrad, presented a collection inspired by art and architecture.  She received the textile award, and second place.

Sarah Ghazal, presented garments inspired by Indian Elephant painting.

Brian Stanton, presented a collection inspired by plaid, and graphic symbols.

Melanie De Jesus, presented a collection with the complimentary ascetics of hard and soft, metal and tulle. She received first place, and the textile award.

Students, faculty, Dr. Carol Tuntland, Dr. Rebecca Davis and assistant Professor Carole Frances Lung, along with the  Dean Terry Allison and Abbas Daneshavari had a wonderful time meeting, Los Angeles, apparel producers and designers.
